John H. Smith Retired
Gainesville native, John H. Smith, is a retired partner of SGWM. Mr. Smith concentrated his practice in land/real estate transactions, zoning, eminent domain, wills, trusts and estates, probate, and land litigation.
Steven P. Gilliam
Steven P. Gilliam is a respected trial attorney who represents commercial clients in complex litigation, corporate, zoning and eminent domain, banking, and transactional law.
Jerry A. Williams Retired
Jerry Williams is a retired partner of SGWM. For more than 40 years years, he worked closely with the attorneys at SGWM as the firm’s leading tax law expert.
Kelly Anne Miles
Kelly Anne Miles is skilled in all aspects of family law and is committed to giving clients the support they need in resolving legal issues related to families and the break-up or separation of family members. Ms. Miles has effectively represented clients for over three and a half decades in these types of cases.
Bradley J. Patten
Brad J. Patten joined Smith, Gilliam, Williams & Miles in 1989 and has an extensive background in bankruptcy and workers' compensation law. As a court-appointed Chapter 7 trustee since 1997, Mr. Patten works with debtors and creditors to guide them through the complex process of bankruptcy.
M. Tyler Smith
M. Tyler Smith's practice includes business law and litigation. He prepares business agreements, including employment and non-compete agreements, as well as confidentiality and shareholder agreements.
R. Brent Hatcher, Jr.
R. Brent Hatcher, Jr. joined SGWM in 2004 after practicing for five years at a major Atlanta law firm. His practice areas include general civil litigation, commercial and business litigation, real property litigation, appellate litigation, and personal injury.
Keith J. Whitaker
Keith J. Whitaker joined SGWM in 2007. His areas of practice include business transactions and corporate law, litigation, real estate transactions, and Wills and Estate Planning.
Bill Rhoads
Bill Rhoads joined SGWM as an associate attorney in 2009 and was named as a member of the firm in 2016. His primary areas of practice include general estate planning, wills and trusts, business transactions, and providing tax advice for clients.

Daniel Dupree's areas of practice include general civil litigation, business litigation, wills and trusts, and general estate planning.
Kellie R. Sellers
